Post two for today. Please view the first below this one. Click on the time for this post (4:00 p.m.) at the very bottom of it so the music from the two slide shows do not compete. And please feel free to leave an anonymous comment if you don't have blogger.

It's all about clouds. The majority of these were taken to the west as I waited for the harvest moon to rise on Wednesday evening, and then for curiosity to be sated as I watched the storm roll in over my home - off to the right.

I love the clouds, using my imagination of what they are, besides angels.

I would mention that if you want to see a larger version of the slideshow and also be able to see the others I've made you can click on "view all images".

Angels be with you,
Wendy XO

As the chilly north wind brings the clouds again to hide the autumnal sun, the sadness creeps in and I must think immensely on friends and art. The past few days have brought presents to remind me of wonderful angel friends. I received an early birthday gift from a pigeon across the ocean, which dear Suze put in motion. She sent beautiful angels and a fabulous needle case which she made with her own heart. It is so filled with joy. I embrace that joy to me lovingly Suze. Thank you.

Another pigeon from across the ocean brought the
arTEA swap maze book, ATCs and two lovely teabags. Thanks Liiolii. They are wonderful presents to brighten my days.

I just spoke also with my dear friend Jeanne who had been very ill through the summer and had a major surgery a few weeks ago. She is doing so
much better. It was a wonderful present to hear her bubbly cheerful voice telling me so.

The last picture shows some of what I've been doing, besides driving our daughter all around the countryside to her activities and taking pictures while the autumn colours were still here. Mostly I'll be working with fabric over the next while. I'm hoping to carve more stamps for altering the fabric. The freezer paper is for more of the same. I used those scissors for the pattern in the freezer paper. The fabric is just some of the stash I've found to use in some autumn creations. I've also been busy preparing books for altering. It's a good project while Greg is doing the driving. It is somehow relaxing tearing pages out of books. Has it something to do with a protest against authority? I rarely do that. It's fun. The card and little book just happened to be sitting on the table because we had to move them quickly when I accidently over watered the poor neglected plants. Whoops. Oh well. Just plants, just paper things.

Autumn 4x4s: For this week's prompt at Inspire me Thursday the word "square" was chosen. If you are an artist you know that this opens numerous possibilities. I've decided to go with 4x4s. Because I love autumn textures and colours and feel so blessed at this time of year, I've decided to go with an autumn splendour quartet. The fourth is quite different from the rest in that the background is blue and the picture is different. I happened to already have it cut to a 4x4 size.
This first one was done on a piece of yellow cardstock. I printed my own background of rust onto it and then applied gold ink. After a couple of minutes I rubbed the ink with a baby wipe. Next I applied a stamp over the entire piece. I used the printed photo and sewed it on. I finished it with
stamps for the words and the addition of the brad.

The background for the second was
done on watercolour with acrylic and water. Then I used inks which I again rubbed off with baby wipes. I used stamps and I think some walnut ink spray. I glued the picture this time and also used a sakura goldie for some of the words. I did a tiny bit of sanding on the photo edges.

The third was just done on a piece of decorative
paper.
For this one I tried using a gel transfer for the words. Same picture, same sewing, same application of brad finalized this one.

The fourth was using a blue background done with acrylic and water on watercolour paper with a bit of salt. After it was dry I printed some of my own handwriting
which had been scanned and stretched a bit, onto the paper. Different picture, same treatment. I used a gold ink pad and pencil eraser to do a couple of gold stamped images.
Sunday - a quick trip to Manitou to close down the cabin. It was cool and rainy. I had camera in hand much of the time. Though I got damp and chilled, I was happy. Another autumn treasure chest day.

Autumn - As the seasons change, I wend my way through the past forty some years and struggle to be rid of all the garbage in my body, and soul. Some days are filled with glory in that wending. Other days I kind of feel like I've been run over by a truck. In the last few the wending has been more tough again. I think I'm getting much closer the true joyous me. So I'll say. Whilst I've been wending I've been asked to laugh more, cry less. On Sunday night I was reminded of that by a dear friend. Yesterday my daughter reminded me. Today I am mostly at self in the solitude I love. BUT, my mind keeps rolling back to the tears and tense. Any tickles you can send - great joy.

The Colour of Me:
The questions for CaC's Wednesday "getting to know you" were about colour. I wrote a poem and put it together with a picture. These were the questions:

What color best expresses who you let other people see you to be?

What color best suits the real you you know is deep inside of you?

Do the colors match, or do you need to learn to be more comfortable being yourself too?

Why do you think that color expresses you well? Would your better half agree??

Here's a little book I made for the ar-TEA swap hosted by MaryAnn: I finally finished this at about 1:30 a.m. and popped it in the mail today to my swap partner in Finland. I had so much fun making it. The size is 4" x 4". The cover and right hand pages are done with fabric. The back and left pages are done with collaged watercolour paper. I used decorative papers to do the quotations and photos.

I must leave my computer as I am exhausted. Much has been going very well the last few days and I will be freed to do more creating.

Till tomorrow - "angels be with you".

And thanks for all of your kind comments and observations. I'll be back to you soon.

Thoughts for today:
I absolutely love today's calendar page from Mary Engelbreit.

Do you remember the doodle I'd shown a few days ago with the heart?

I was busy carving on the weekend and this is the result.

I'd forgotten to take any ink along to the farm so didn't get to try it until last night. I was so pleased. I hope you like it too. I'll be doing more with this fabric but not for a few days.

"What wouldn't you give... to live, love, and be happy... DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY... forever more?
Well, that's just it... you needn't give anything... JUST DECIDE... to live, love, and be happy... DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY... from this moment forward."
