From the top of an old cupboard in what I'm calling my art room. I choose not to call it a studio because I don't think I'll be doing much of the actual art here. I am storing supplies and hope to find inspiration, dreams, a place to relax and think.

My apologies for not being with you in your own blogs, dreams. I've been doing humungous job of cleaning our basement. I'll share more of that in days future.
We are going to farm for couple of days. I face more cleaning there as my folks are selling their house in the City as they've been primarily living at the farm now.

Our weather has FINALLY warmed up. PHEW! And the sun is actually shining. Though the clouds are again wending their way in.
Hopefully our daughter will also start making better choices again. :-)

Nearly forgot to mention that I had started a journal page for Valentine's day. Ah, and then teenager decided to, welllll, anyway.

A number of videos are in the plans. One needs only a tiny bit of tuning up. Next week :-) If you want to keep an eye on what's happening at my youtube and see what my faves are you can find them here.
I'll get that link up shortly also.

Angels be with you,

Between concerts:

bring a torch Jeannette Isabella

And just a few flat canvases on which I slapped a bit of paint. I hope to have a tiny bit more time for creating this week, between Christmas preparations that is. Yikes.

This time of year is filled with so much mixed emotion for me. I carry so much sadness and yet because I love colour and richness texture, the artist of me wants to rejoice. Trying to find balance between the two has been quite the challenge, especially this year as I am bounding full force ahead into the creative pools. I have been spending very much time, as some of you will be aware, with photography and flickr. As this is so much a part of the artist in me I find the time well spent. As soon as I can get my brain round to that left brain part some bit more, I will be trying to sell some of the pictures. I have already had some tiny success with that piece locally. I also like to incorporate my words and my photos within my art. This all takes muchness time.
I have also been greatly inspired by suziblutube in the past days as you may also have noticed. I adore her people and their eyes. I greatly appreciate Suzi's sense of humour and feel some connection to her way of thinking. She has commented in one of her video's about the marketing and something about her thoughts around that. The same video also contains words by Rumi with which I much identify. If I can remember which of the many videos it is I will share it here.

These are just a couple of the pages I have done recently in my journal, having been inspired by Suzi.

holding hope forever

I'll also show a couple of my more recent photos which seem to have grabbed the interest of the flickr community.

in a row

I have as well stretched my bounds in the past days and have purchased more canvases. As I am so self taught I have never "touched" a canvas ever before in my life. On Thursday eve I actually spread some gesso on three tiny flat ones. I've energy to bound forward with that as quickly as I can step away from this noisy, blasted, I mean blessed, computer and look after bodily needs. I hate taking time to eat- just bring me some chocolate.

Enough for now - hopefully more tomorrow.

Listening these days mostly to Vivaldi - no words to bring thoughts, enough excitement to keep me energized.

More autumn photos until I hopefully have time to finish some art. My apologies for once again being so negligent about visiting all of your blogs. Happy Autumn!

Autumn 4x4s: For this week's prompt at Inspire me Thursday the word "square" was chosen. If you are an artist you know that this opens numerous possibilities. I've decided to go with 4x4s. Because I love autumn textures and colours and feel so blessed at this time of year, I've decided to go with an autumn splendour quartet. The fourth is quite different from the rest in that the background is blue and the picture is different. I happened to already have it cut to a 4x4 size.
This first one was done on a piece of yellow cardstock. I printed my own background of rust onto it and then applied gold ink. After a couple of minutes I rubbed the ink with a baby wipe. Next I applied a stamp over the entire piece. I used the printed photo and sewed it on. I finished it with
stamps for the words and the addition of the brad.

The background for the second was
done on watercolour with acrylic and water. Then I used inks which I again rubbed off with baby wipes. I used stamps and I think some walnut ink spray. I glued the picture this time and also used a sakura goldie for some of the words. I did a tiny bit of sanding on the photo edges.

The third was just done on a piece of decorative
paper.
For this one I tried using a gel transfer for the words. Same picture, same sewing, same application of brad finalized this one.

The fourth was using a blue background done with acrylic and water on watercolour paper with a bit of salt. After it was dry I printed some of my own handwriting
which had been scanned and stretched a bit, onto the paper. Different picture, same treatment. I used a gold ink pad and pencil eraser to do a couple of gold stamped images.

a visit to the Forestry Farm:
On Saturday we made a trip to Saskatoon and were fortunate to have some spare moments to visit the Forestry Farm. It was a great relaxing, calming time.

Here are a couple of the pictures from that visit.

I am trying very much to actually complete some art so will wait until that happens to share any more of it.

Our daughter, Cat, on watercolour - collaged, incomplete. This is the piece I had started on Saturday. I took a photograph and because it was leaning against a background I decided to digitally add black and charcoal around outside.

Yesterday Cat had a tiny seizure. She is fine. About 8 - 9 years ago she had been on medication for epilepsy. Then she had been seizure free and was able to go off the medication.

I believe this seizure was totally stress related. The transition to the huge high school has been very difficult. The program Cat had been in at the public school was very specialized for her. One could say she was spoiled. One said she deserves to be spoiled. I agree. A
t the high school they do not know how intricate her complexities are. They need to learn.

If you want to see the pictures of Cat in more detail, or more of them, go to either "Cat - now" or "our daughter - then".

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated at this time.

I love you Beautiful Angel.
