Angels rising ~ As I walked with the dogs I glanced to the west and saw the fine feathery pink wings. Millions ascending. They were rising to the sky, to the heavens. I kept checking and soon noticed many lined up, high in the west. I saw solid lines of pink, glorious wings shining brightly. As the sun dropped, the colour of the ascending wings changed to burgundy. The more mature angels, wings not quite so bright? As their numbers in the heavens grew, the vision gentled ~ pink amidst the fluffy baby blue. Many wings entwined, side by side. Their softness appeared more cottony.
They rose even higher so I could no longer see the pink. Only fluffy blue clouds lingered as I quietly said good night to the sun.
Good night sun.

"And I think to myself - what a wonderful world"

May 14, 2006 ~ It was a great day and ended with a beautiful evening. Mother's day, Cat's confirmation, singing with her in a concert for mothers, and being with family.
Yes, "I think to myself - what a wonderful world".

lost

Sometimes I stop to think of what has been lost as technology and "bigger is better" takes over. I grieve for the loss of the "country life" ~ a time when cooperation and family were automatically part of the picture. We sometimes reminisce about standing in a yard where we once lived and saw numerous family farms within the reach of the horizon. Now we may have to drive miles on the prairie to see a yard.
