Card with inchies and stamp image: I believe that's what the image is called anyway. I changed a black and white scanned picture to the image you see on the card. I just did it on word and then transferred it to the photo paint program I use to change to jpg image. It was quite simple actually. I love how it turned out and will be playing with more of these images.
The inchies are the ones I'd started a time back. I trimmed with fabulous gelly roll gold pens from Sakura which I'd received from artsy Fran when I was so fortunate to be chosen for the give-away she did. I especially love these "gold shadow" gelly rolls. I also did some trimming on the card.
I added some text to the inchies from an old book I have. I really like doing the inchies. I have to get cracking on the ones for the swap I signed for at clothpaperstudio yahoo group. I haven't forgotten, just a little caught up in life lately. Thank goodness I have the creative vent to help me through the life challenges.
Angels be with you.

Spoiled or very loved? The top picture is of the card my very dear Greg gave me for Christmas. He wasn't planning to get me a card but this one absolutely caught his eye. He is a man of very few words but many ideas. He can usually know precisely what is important, especially when it comes to technology and machines. Occasionally he surprises me with his perceptions of what's important otherwise, matters of the heart. I think this card was the most beautiful gift I got for Christmas this year.

The reason I say spoiled is because we also got a new computer for Christmas. That was not really a surprise. This one is old - 98. It's very slow. We worry about me losing some of my work, some of my writing. We worry about it crashing. I got the computer as a gift. We have another computer downstairs for the past few months. Because my husband is the main computer person at his work place he was able to retrieve a computer from the recycle stash. He and Cat know I have first dibs on the main one. Lucky me. Greg will probably start setting it up tonight.

I've also included a sketchy sketch done on blue paper with mainly white. I did it to show a friend of Cat's. J. enjoys art but is not so much into whimsical or collage. That's OK. She's only 14 and is from a family somewhat set in their ways. I'm glad she is able to do as much art as she is. She is very talented. Someday... The piece is another WIP (work in progress). I may be showing many of those because of "should."

Happy New Year to all.

November 25, 2006, second post; AEM, Artwords: I was asked by a friend to do some Christmas cards. This is more challenging. I have to do something she'll like. A couple of the things she likes are birds and outdoors. She chose the papers. I didn't have any photos of winter birds. I decided to do this picture from some clipart I had. I did it my own way. Then I discovered that this week's theme for artwords is birds. I'm cutting it close. A new theme goes up tomorrow. I actually didn't have the correct link ever since I changed my blog template. When I redid that today I discovered "bird". So I was under the wire. The card actually isn't complete. I may change it totally after I check with Jen.

Anyway, I was quite scared about the drawing. It's not really something I do very often or very well. I was pleased though. Even if Jen doesn't care for it, the drawing was good practice. And once again I was reminded that though I couldn't find something I was looking for at the last minute - my good pencil crayons, sometimes it works out better. I used mostly the water soluble caran d'ache. YES, the blending was perfect.

I love birds. Chickadees are birds that I commonly see and hear. This winter I'll try to get photos. They are very tame. I've heard of people feeding them from hand. Beautiful chickadees.
