just another day

"Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?
Sonnez les matines, sonnez les matines
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

Are you sleeping, are you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong."

babies, children, life and love ~ day 3

i can hardly believe
already october

i can hardly believe
tomorrow will be
nineteen weeks

i can hardly believe
people's actions
choices

i can hardly believe
my strength
my courage
my hope
my light

i can hardly believe
my ability to laugh
to love
to cry
to pray

i can hardly believe
near ten months

i can hardly believe

"Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Papa's gonna buy you a looking glass

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Papa's gonna buy you a billy goat

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Papa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town."

babies, children, life, and love ~ day 2

the days march on
i dance through
i plod through
i dance through

anger interrupts
i dance through
i dance toward the light

unconditional love
surrounds me
i dance within
i dance through

sadness interferes
i allow it
the tears bring
healing
i dance through
i dance toward the light

love over all
i dance within
i dance through
i dance toward the light

"Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby

Somewhere, over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why, can't I?"

babies, children, life and love ~ day 1

this time of year
i start to think, typically, of that dance
that autumn dance. somehow, this year,
that dance is so different.

somehow
the dance has become intertwined with,
with what?

my new
everyday life
i suppose.

where sighs,
sighs are mandatory.
frequent sighs.

reminders
to drop shoulders.
reminders
to breathe.
reminders to dance
and sing
and let myself be.
reminders,
to leave all things
in God's hands.
reminders that my God,
my God, is
a great God.

Sweet Dreams
Sweet Dreams my darling, the day is done.
The moon is here to say goodnight to the sun.

Gather your blankets and climb into bed.
Close your eyes and lay down your head.

Rest for now with peaceful dreams,
Of twinkling stars and shining moon beams.

Sweet dreams my darling, sweet dreams my love,
Sweet dreams my precious gift from above.

Love Lives Here

when words evade me

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice-
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations, though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen branches and stones.
but little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do-
determined to save
the only life you could save.

Monday mingle

I was exploring on pinterest yesterday and found some fabulous blogs around the area of "stitched". For some of these I have linked specifically to a post. Please take an opportunity to look at current information by clicking on top of the blog or where it says main or home.

A quotation posted last week by a friend ~

Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.”
