a few moments with nature

I stepped into the bright sunshiny morn
caught a glimpse of a feather
stooped down
picked up
my first feather for the day

saw that lone young dove rise up
wondered at its loneness once again
where had the others gone
why was it alone
how would it manage

walked in the grass
damp from the cool night air
paused at the tiny perfect intricate spider web
thought how perfect how tiny how resplendent
saw the numbers of them
each tiny
individuals
shining in the light
