childhood dreams

Many of you are probably already aware that I love pinterest. I have chosen to share with you some of  my "dreams" from there. That is much of what pinterest is about to me.

dreaming

As a child I loved the idea of learning to dance. Growing up on a farm
in rural Saskatchewan,
the possibility for dance lessons was remote.
My cousins, who took music lessons,
were driven every Saturday to Regina, the nearest city,
about an hour drive away.
I later learned of a dance teacher,
daughter of one of our friends,
who owned a dance school, also in the city.
Remote. Not possible.
As many from that era did, I adored
"The Sound of Music".
I recall moments of dancing through our longish dining area
connected to the living room
as if running through the mountains, over the graceful hillside
as Maria,
perhaps flitting and floating as one of the children,
perhaps twirling and gliding in a Viennese waltz as one of the guests.

I still occasionally do a slow
even less graceful glide
around our own living room.
Possibilities of learning to dance in a fancier style elude me.
I am grateful for still being able to walk
and do a slower sort of dance
as neural damage has begun to occur in my feet,
after the long standing diabetes.

Yet I will continue to move as gracefully as I am able
and I will always have dreams
of flitting and floating
gliding and twirling.

Please note that these images are not my own. They are all from my pinterest boards gathered over the internet.

I saw a field

of flowers
dancing in the wind
I saw colours
twinkling
in the breeze
I sang notes
of love
as I floated
on the clouds

when nature speaks to me

Sometimes nature touches me and my skin tingles. Sometimes nature touches me and I see angels. Sometimes nature touches me and I feel exhilarated.
last night
Maundy thursday
7:31 p.m.
we walk with haste toward the Church
we are late
but others as well
I feel the shiver
race up my spine
the angels are dancing
in the west
as the dark clouds meet with the sun
setting hesitantly
midst all the excitement
of clouds and sunlight colliding
spring rain cloud kind of dark clouds
the pinkness of the wings is so vibrant
I smile
I wish
to worship outdoors
with the energy of nature
as it touches me
Three nights previous, the thunder clapped two times for me. Again I smiled.
Two years ago, the dove cooed from on our roof. I smiled, knew that all would be well.

HOPE Abounding Wishes for today:

1. that I could dance - more like this:

2. that I could speak my comments to people's blogs and videos and etsy and pictures, and have them automatically typed. Even better would be if I could think them. Ummm - it would automatically be able to pick and choose the appropriate thoughts to type :D - typing with just 2 fingers sucks (and takes a lot of precious time) : (

3. that the sun would shine a bit more these days.

Thought for today from inspiration peak:
There are no accidents... there is only some purpose that we haven't yet understood.

The weather AND my almost ready to dance in art room:
I am practically humming with excitement, even though we are having bitterly cold weather. The windchills are something like -49 degrees C which is, I believe, about -58 degrees F. I haven't stepped out yet. Might still take the dog for a few steps down the back lane (alley) ;-)

Have you found that in order to organize many diverse pieces you must first separate all the pieces? That's the stage I'm at now with all my papers. YUCK. Just so there's a space to walk through to get to my art space. I am getting so close though. I can almost feel the excitement. I have made a deal with self to not do any more art until... Oh YES! I can hardly wait. Weeelll - I have started another video. I can't complete it though until the space is ready to launch. I need to do some taping on the turquoise blue bedspread in that room.

In the meantime here are some videos I've been trying to cheer myself with.

Angels be with you,
