Altered book cover: moving right along. I can hardly wait to finish this now. I am a bit scared about doing the last bit of antiquing because the first time came out so dark. I'll practice first and can hopefully be a bit more relaxed when I do it. This picture is of my Mom when she was expectant with me. In the original photo she's holding one of my cousins who's just a few months older than I, a godchild.

  1. Wow! Wendy, this is wonderful! What a lovely photo of your Mum, and such lovely colours surrounding her. There's a proper air of expectancy to the piece... Can't wait to see how you get on with the 'antiquing'... good luck! :)

  2. Ohhhhhhhhhh Wendy! I love it! I am excited about this piece! what a lovely way to capture your Mom! and you! hehe If antiquing it is not your thing...maybe a paint glaze....i mix one part of gel medium (the adheasive i use) to a bit of paint and then lightly brush over the piece. Try it out on something else first though! What great work you have done! Love and hugs!

  3. Thanks you two. I think I'll try the antiquing to see what happens, after practice, but will also try the glaze on another one. I like the top righthand corner especially. I can't remember if that part actually got antiqued or just the paint. I think the paint was "napa wine".
My Mom and I look very much alike. When I first showed the piece to her she thought it was me.
    The resmblance is truly uncanny.lol

  4. Wendy I really like your color choices here. They all work well together. Your Mom is pretty.
